Her Answer

Hi Can,

It was fun reading your email :)  I can relate to your story because something similar happen to me too.

In a past month I have been researching a lot about Web design (since I expertise in print only). My goal is to complete my own website within 4 month and I have done some mapping already.

I think it will be beneficial to pick up each other’s brains, so coffee sounds great!

Let me know if Friday afternoon works for you.

P.S “The Alchemist” is in my have to read list.

I'll post her answer tomorrow

hey Ella,

I wasn’t sure if work email was the best way to reach you but it was the least stalkerish way.

I design and develop ecommerce websites for a broadway production company and I’ve been wanting to change my career to art direction for a year now. I took some conceptual classes from SVA and have been trying to come up with campaigns that are good enough to put in my portfolio which by the way does not exist yet: ) I only have my ideas drawn on a paper with a marker and a TV spot for Kodak.

I’ve been reading books about chasing your dream and you know, doing what you really want in life etc… One of those books was the Alchemist which I actually liked. It talks about how the universe will help you achieve your goal if you really want something. The idea may seem optimistic and farfetched but it was very relieving at the same time if you believed it.

Anyway, something funny happened today! I went out to get lunch and saw this red business card on the ground. It said Ogilvy on it and obviously I got excited : ) It was your card. I had heard that Ogilvy moved to the building across the street from us. I guess you dropped it on your way to work?

So I just wanted to say hi and tell you my little story. And since we work so close, I thought maybe we could get coffee someday after work? I’d love to meet you`!

Let me know,

Can Agaoglu

Crossing Streets With My Mom

Mom used to hold my hand when we were crossing streets. I remember being very uncomfortable and not letting her, thinking my friends might see and make fun of me.

Now even though we don’t get the chance as often, she still wants to hold my hand. And I love holding her hand, too.
