“If you want to really hurt your parents, and you don’t have the nerve to be gay, the least you can do is go into the arts. I’m not kidding. The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven’s sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.” —Kurt Vonnegut

” And I think if you  post another song you should write some kind of a story with it, like ‘this reminds me of summer’ or ‘the time when .. Blah blah’ “

A story from a friend's childhood

They were two little brothers sitting at the dinner table refusing to eat the leek dish their mom cooked for them. Mom was upset, kids were spoiled.

Mom had an idea. She went down to the super of the building and asked him to find two shoeshine kids from the street and send them upstairs. She went back home, took her two sons off the table and told them that it was okay if they don’t want to eat it. Brothers were suprised yet curious what was going on.

A few minutes later, the super appeared with two poor hungry kids in front of the door. Mom let the kids in and told them to feel free eating all the food on the table. Brothers were watching them with curiousity. Kids sat at the table while brothers already started wanting their food back. Hungry kids ate the brothers’ food with a great appetite and joy. Mom held her two sons with her arms while they were crying and yelling at the kids to stop eating their food. They were jelaous and angry. When the kids were done eating her sons’ dinner, she thanked them let them out.

From then on, my friend says he ate whatever his mom cooked for him and always finished his plate. He grew up to be a great man too. Thanks to his amazing mother.
